Comedian and podcaster Theo Fong explained why he went from identifying as a Democrat and supporting a socialist senator to being sympathetic to President-elect Donald Trump.
Fong was speaking with Professor Scott Galloway on The Comedian's Podcast when he commented on his position in the political environment. The 44-year-old said he was a supporter of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, R-Vermont.
“There's no question that a lot of people feel ashamed of being white. It's a shame because they didn't choose to be white.”
“You should look [Joe] Logan was once a Democrat. He was left wing. I'm a Bernie fan. It's like these people are alienating my heroes in the Democratic Party. It just got really weird,” Fung said.
“The political part is very strange to me,” he added. “But there's a lot of meaning to what you're saying. Men want to feel like it's okay to be a man, and sometimes you leave the house saying, 'Is it okay to be a man? *** I feel like that at the entrance to this restaurant or something, and I don't think that's how anyone should feel about this. I think it's a great thing to talk about.”
Trump appeared on Vonn's show just before the election, and many believe the campaign's focus on alternative media led to Trump's stunning victory.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Fung spoke about the stigma of white men in society.
“I definitely feel like there's an attack on white men. And if you're white…you can't say, 'Can I start a white support group?'” Because suddenly it's racist. Because you will become a person. There is definitely shame in wearing white skin,” Fong said.
“We do that all the time, reliving the past or refocusing on the past and using it as a scope for the present, and that's not very fair,” he said. added. “There's no question that a lot of people feel ashamed of being white, and it's a shame because they didn't choose to be white. And a lot of white people don't have sex. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
