There’s no escaping the massive caveats of any Giants QB option

Of all the uncertainties, the giant has two certainties.

• They know there is no perfect solution to desperately searching for the next starting quarterback. If there are all the options there, “Yeah, but…” can be pasted into the name of the player you are considering.

• They know they have to offer head coach Brian Daboll in higher quality than what he has available over the past two seasons. Unless the quarterback room is upgraded significantly, unless the offense continues to have flounder, Dabour will not be able to get the franchise on the right track, and that's his time with the Giants. Of course, that would definitely mark the end of Joe Shane's tenure as general manager.

The Giants look at the same list of available players like everyone else and realize that there is an unfortunate lie in all of this. After Matthew Stafford's pursuit turns out to be fruitless, they have to consider Aaron Rodgers as they see him as the best quarterback out there. In any logical world, do you think this version of 41-year-old Rodgers is about to be put aside by the Jets? And would it be better to marry a giant? There is no chance. However, the negatives need to be scraped off to reveal the positives that exist under the surface.
