Shocking Claims from Teresa Nist About Jerry Turner
This week, Teresa Nist shared some quite disturbing allegations about her ex-husband, Jerry Turner, revealing that he once threatened to “cut up” her body during their short-lived relationship. She recounted the incident while discussing her experiences on the “Dear Shandy” podcast, mentioning a walk they took around Pretty Lake.
Nist recalled Turner pointing towards a cabin and ominously stating that was where he would hide her body after killing her. “He wasn’t laughing,” she commented, highlighting the dark nature of his utterance. At that moment, she couldn’t shake off the feeling that there was hostility in his words, even though she didn’t truly believe he would follow through with such a threat.
In her reflection, Nist expressed confusion over how someone could joke about something so grim, stating, “If this is a joke… it’s pretty dark humor.” Their relationship, marked by tension, left her feeling unsettled, yet she clung to the hope that he wouldn’t actually harm her.
Nist’s complicated feelings about their marriage surfaced again as she discussed the memoir Turner wrote, titled “Golden Years.” She felt some of his recollections were fabricated and emphasized that being in a marriage she was unsure about “didn’t do her any good.” She argued that their wedding, which aired on television in January 2024, should have been called off.
She added, “You didn’t do me any favors by marrying a woman you didn’t want to marry.” Turner himself acknowledged in the memoir that he had rushed into the wedding, later realizing it was a mistake that led to resentment between them.
Turner openly admitted the breakdown of their marriage happened surprisingly fast, marking the period as a “very dark place” for him. He reflected on how he hurt both Nist and his own family, stating, “I realized that my marriage was over. It was a slow march towards the end.”
The couple’s marriage, which ended in divorce just three months later, was initiated publicly, but it became clear they faced significant personal differences. Turner filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” shortly after announcing their separation.
In discussing their conversations about their relationship, Turner noted that they both recognized the difficult circumstances but ultimately agreed living apart was best for their well-being. Their divorce was finalized by June 2024.
Nist shared that her initial intention was to keep quiet about their relationship and the book, mainly out of respect for Turner and her family, but felt compelled to speak out now. “If you don’t have anything to say, don’t say anything,” she mentioned, conveying her reluctance to cause pain but feeling unable to stay silent any longer, especially given Turner’s public claims.
Meanwhile, Turner has moved on and is in a new relationship with Lana Sutton. He mentioned that facing life positively after his cancer diagnosis has changed his outlook. “I decided I wasn’t going to say no to anything,” he noted about embracing new experiences. Their mutual support has enriched his life, allowing him to find happiness again.
Overall, it seems both Turner and Nist are navigating their complicated pasts and learning to forge ahead in their lives, albeit along different paths.
