A recent ranking by the Burning Glass Institute, the Schulz Family Foundation, and Harvard Business School's Future of Work Management Project ranked WW Grainger and nine other companies as companies that offer employees the most growth in their professional lives. It turned out to be a company.
Industrial supplies company WW Grainger took home this year's number one spot. american opportunity indexThe paper's authors said they “reveal which large U.S. companies are doing the best job of advancing the careers of their employees and growing the middle class in the job market.”
The index considered factors such as hiring, pay, promotion, parity, and culture at a number of large U.S.-based companies over a five-year period to determine Grainger's first list order. . The ranking uses data on the “career trajectories” of more than 5 million workers, with a particular focus on jobs that don't require a college degree.
The American Opportunity Index gives Grainger, which employs more than 26,000 people, a score of 4 for hiring, pay, parity and culture and a score of 3 for advancement.

According to the index, industrial supply companies will reach the number one spot in 2024, moving up two places from third place last year.
The other nine companies in the top 10 operate in the retail, financial, technology, transportation, food, and insurance industries.

Three of these companies jumped into the top 10 in 2024: JB Hunt, PepsiCo, and MetLife. According to the index, last year they were 21st, 19th and 16th, respectively.
The American Opportunity Index includes a total of 395 major American companies, 100 of which are designated as “Top Performers.”
According to the American Opportunity Index, employees at the top 100 companies ranked specifically for pay receive 130% more compensation than employees at the bottom 100 companies in that category. Ta.
