They Can Definitely Charge Brennan with Lying to Congress

Sen. Rand Paul Comments on Allegations of Russian Conspiracy

During a segment on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) discussed a recently released document that allegedly supported claims of Russian conspiracy during the 2016 presidential election.

Paul emphasized his unique position as the only senator opposing former CIA director John Brennan’s appointment by President Obama, stating that Brennan could potentially face charges for lying to Congress.

Host Jesse Watters prompted Paul, asking for his thoughts on the matter since he played a critical role in the discussions surrounding the Russian conspiracy rumors. “What should happen next?” Watters inquired.

In response, Paul highlighted, “I’m aware of the clips where Trey Gowdy questions Brennan, but did you realize the documents came from the Clinton campaign? Brennan’s denial is rather dismissive, saying, ‘Yes, but isn’t that really the case?’ The truth is, it’s not, and even his selected analysts seem to think he can misrepresent the facts.”

He continued, “This was clearly a coordinated effort. People might not recall the narratives from that period. Yes, the intent was to disseminate this information to the government, aiming to prevent the incoming Trump administration from dismantling it. However, the public was largely unaware that the information originated from the Clinton campaign—13 hours against John Brennan.”

Paul asserted, “I think there’s sufficient evidence to suggest he misled Congress regarding the documents. He was aware of their origins, and his analysts had cautioned him about it.”
