Third suspect captured for helping with Orleans Parish jail break, six fugitives still on the run

Arrest Made in Prison Escape Case

Authorities have arrested a third accomplice related to the escape of one of the ten prisoners from the Orleans Parish correctional facility. This individual, Connie Weeden, 59, is suspected of aiding the fugitive, Jermaine Donald, by allegedly contacting him via phone both before and after his escape.

Weeden reportedly provided Donald with cash through a mobile phone app. Consequently, she has been charged with a felony accessory count and has been taken to St. Tammany Parish Correctional Centre.

Weeden is not the only one in custody. Two other individuals, Cortnie Harris and Corvanntay Baptiste, are also accused of assisting in the jailbreak, offering help and transportation to other escapees.

A statement from the Louisiana State Police emphasizes the seriousness of aiding fugitives. They warned that those who support or conceal these individuals are infringing on the law, which compromises community safety.

There are still a number of fugitives on the loose:

  • Corey E. Boyd, 19, with charges including second-degree murder and attempted murder.
  • Renton J. Vanbren Jr., 26, facing charges for illegal firearm possession and obstructing justice.
  • Jermaine Donald, 42, has serious charges including second-degree murder and aggravated battery.
  • Antoine Massey, 32, involved in domestic abuse cases and car theft.
  • Derrick Groves, 27, facing multiple counts of attempted second-degree murder.
  • Leo O. Tate Sr., 31, with charges related to robbery and illegal firearm possession.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant as these individuals are considered armed and dangerous.
