Thirteen people arrested inside Hamilton Hall had no ties to Columbia

Two professors were among 44 anti-Israel protesters arrested this week inside a Columbia University building that was invaded and occupied by a mob, school officials said.

More than half of those arrested at Hamilton Hall on Tuesday night were outsiders with no formal ties to the Ivy League school. According to Columbia’s press release:.

A statement released on Thursday said: “A significant proportion of those who broke the law and occupied Hamilton Hall were outsiders.”

“The majority were a mix of adults, including a graduate student, two employees, and an outsider not affiliated with Columbia University,” the newspaper said.

The university’s suggestion that some of the illegal occupation of the school building was led by outside actors echoed Mayor Eric Adams’ claims that “outside agitators” were radicalizing the city’s college students.
