Popular campground El Cosmico is expanding with 43 new hotel rooms and 18 residences, all built using giant 3D printers.

A new era of hotel design
This is no ordinary boxy hotel. We're talking curved walls, domes, and wild shapes that would cost a fortune with traditional construction methods. Owner Liz Lambert worked with a 3D printing company called Icon and a top architect. this dream reality.

The technology behind the magic
They use a special cement mixture called Lavacrete, which is pumped out by a giant robotic arm. It's like a giant high-tech Play-Doh machine for buildings. Icon's giant 3D printer, Vulcan, is 15 1/2 feet tall, weighs 4.75 tons, and can create structures with curved walls up to 12 feet tall.

Under construction
The first room is already under construction and should be fully completed by 2026. Imagine telling your friends that you stayed in a 3D printed hotel room in the Lone Star State. Now, let's talk about vacation.
