The 2024 presidential election is still months away, but ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith says it’s already over.
Following the weekend’s assassination attempt on President Trump and the subsequent footage of the 45th president raising his bloody fist in defiance, Stephen A. Smith feels he can predict who will win the election.
“In my opinion, this shooter just handed Donald Trump the election victory,” Smith said. “Folks, I’ve been in media for 30 years, and you can’t buy a better photo than what Donald Trump has right now.”
“Blood streaming from his ear and the right side of his face. Surrounded by Secret Service, fists raised, face grimacing, repeating ‘Fight. Fight. Fight’ three times, surrounded by Secret Service, fists raised. American flag behind him. Folks, no politician could buy a better photo than this.”
Smith continued: “Watch the video of him pumping his fist. Watch the crowd go wild behind him. And listen to the pundits on TV talking about how ‘strong’ and ‘energized’ and ‘brave’ he is. These are the words they used. And not coincidentally, that was the exact opposite of what they were saying about President Biden.”

Smith has remained as unbiased as one would expect from a mainstream media figure, meaning he has supported Biden while still retaining the ability to give Trump credit when credit is due.
For example, after correctly talking about Trump’s appeal to black voters, Smith ended with an ominous message for Biden.
“In my opinion, Donald Trump has now secured the presidency,” Smith predicted. “If you’re President Biden, you’ve got a lot of work to do.”
