Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) congratulated Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on his move to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) and urged House Republicans to ” He said he needed someone with “courage” and “fortitude”.
The Kentucky senator said:
I think Thomas Massey did the right thing, and I think the Republican Party needs real leadership. We need to use our power. Our people are frustrated. Want to harness the power of your wallet? Why does the debt continue to increase even though Republicans are in charge of the House? So I think it takes someone with some courage and some strength.

Paul’s comments followed Massie co-sponsoring Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) secession motion to remove Johnson as House majority leader.
“In every negotiation, he [Johnson] He went with Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden, and he received nothing in return. He’s either a bad negotiator or he’s negotiating for their side,” Massey said. Breitbart News Daily.
“He accomplished an omnibus that broke Nancy Pelosi’s spending records. He reauthorized FISA without a warrant. Now he has completed the trifecta of passing Ukraine spending without doing anything to police the border. “I’m aiming for it,” he continued. “Not only is the House poorly run, but there will be three strikes.”
“thank you @Rand Paul Because…you will support our efforts to restore fiscal health and constitutionally limited government here in the House of Representatives. Our leadership is failing us,” Massey wrote in response to Paul’s comments.

Massey and Greene voiced their dissatisfaction with Johnson’s leadership, including his spending plans, lack of reform to Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), and efforts to expand foreign aid without border policy. I’m recruiting.
Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pennsylvania), former Freedom Caucus chairman, and Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.), former chairman of the Republican Research Committee (RSC), have endorsed Prime Minister Johnson’s foreign aid framework. I scoffed. He has focused on aid to Ukraine and ignored the migrant crisis on the southern border.
Notice something missing? @SpeakerJohnson He couldn’t include border security in any of the four bills he’s going to throw at us this week.
More than six times in the past six months, he has promised the American people that this will not happen. pic.twitter.com/0QJJyw90hQ
