Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massey Remarries After Loss of His Wife
Thomas Massey, a Republican congressman from Kentucky, recently announced that he has remarried, less than a year after the passing of his first wife. This announcement comes as he prepares for his re-election campaign against a challenger backed by Trump.
Massey shared on X that he and Carolyn Grace Moffa were legally married on October 19. He wrote, “Carolyn and I would like to announce that we recently got married! We were legally married in Kentucky on October 19th by the pastor of the church we have been attending for several months. This weekend, we celebrated with close friends and family at a Christian wedding in Carolyn’s home state of Pennsylvania.”
The congressman mentioned some significant aspects of their relationship, saying, “Carolyn Grace Moffa and I first met professionally over a decade ago when she worked for Senator Rand Paul.” He reflected on her history with the senator’s agricultural policy staff, and noted, “Carolyn has never been married. I have four adult children, all married to wonderful people.” Despite the joy of a new marriage, he admitted, “I still miss seeing my grandchildren every day from my blessed 31 years of marriage to Rhonda.”
Several colleagues from Congress attended the wedding celebrations. Massey also shared a charming detail about the event: “Of course we served our wedding cake with raw milk and margaritas made with frozen peaches from our farm!” He humorously pointed out that while notable politicians like Sen. Rand Paul and Marjorie Taylor Greene were present, the real stars were his grandchildren, with his oldest serving as the ring bearer. He even proposed to Carolyn at the Library of Congress, after their first date there.
As they embark on this new chapter, Massey asked people to keep them in their thoughts. “Please pray for us as Carolyn steps into the arena with me. With her support, I look forward to continuing the fight for freedom for the great people of Kentucky!”
It’s worth mentioning that Massey’s late wife, Rhonda, passed away in June 2024. In a heartfelt message at that time, he described her as “my high school sweetheart, the love of my life for over 35 years,” and thanked everyone for their prayers during a very tough period.
