Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the disappearance and death of a 20-year-old woman who went missing from Georgia and whose body was found in Tennessee, authorities said.
Maury Ange Martinez, of Alpharetta, was reported missing from Gwinnett County in August 2023. Her body was discovered Jan. 5 in a wooded area outside Chattanooga, according to Cobb County police.
The Hamilton County, Tennessee, coroner later confirmed the body was that of Martinez. Her cause of death was not released.

Martinez’s mother, Anita Darling, learned of the discovery on Mother’s Day.
“I want to know what happened to my daughter. It doesn’t heal the loss, but it fills the hole my brain has had for the rest of our lives making up stories of what happened,” Darling said. Fox Atlanta.
Three people were arrested in the case: Allen Carr, Shawn DeShazer and Jasmine Craig. All three have been charged with felony concealment of a death, authorities said. Carr, 32, and DeShazer, 27, were already in custody on unrelated charges, and Craig was arrested in another jurisdiction, authorities said.

Deshazer was already in custody on multiple drug-related charges, including possession of cocaine and marijuana, trafficking in illegal drugs and possessing a firearm and a knife during the commission of a crime.
Carr was being held on suspicion of drug and weapon possession and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Cobb County investigators were working with police in Hamilton County, Tennessee, to find out what happened to Martinez. Authorities have not said whether Martinez is connected to the three suspects.
