Horrifying video shows the aftermath of a plane carrying tourists crashing on a French highway on Sunday.
The accident happened on the A4 highway near Collégien, a small municipality in France’s Seine-et-Marne region, about 18 miles east of Paris.
Three people were killed in the crash, one woman and two men. There were two other passengers on the plane, but their whereabouts are unknown, according to Storyful.
Footage on social media showed cars packed together next to the wrecked plane, which appeared to be upside down.

Video footage showed smoke billowing from the scene as emergency workers dealt with the incident.
Local prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bradier told French newspaper Le Parisien that it was “highly likely” that the pilot struck a high-voltage power line shortly after takeoff. Local reports said Bradier was also investigating the incident as a case of possible manslaughter.

Plane crashes beside or on highways are rare. In August 2023, a small plane crashed beside a highway in Malaysia, killing at least nine people.
In February, two people were killed in a plane crash on Interstate 75. Naples, Florida.
