Prison Sentences for Trio Involved in Fatal NYC Robberies
Three individuals were handed lengthy prison sentences on Wednesday for their roles in a robbery scheme in New York City that resulted in the deaths of two men.
Jayqwan Hamilton, 37, Jacob Barroso, 32, and Robert Demaio, 36, were sentenced by a judge in Manhattan for orchestrating an ongoing robbery operation that involved fentanyl.
Both victims—25-year-old social worker Julio Ramirez and 33-year-old political consultant John Umberger—tragically died after nights out in Hell’s Kitchen in 2022.
All three defendants were found guilty of murdering Ramirez, and both Hamilton and Demaio were also held responsible for Umberger’s death.
