A truck driver is recovering after being assaulted with a hammer during a road rage incident Monday in Bolton, Massachusetts, state police said.
Massachusetts State Police (MSP) responded to an incident on Route 495 at approximately 2:00 p.m., and a preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a tractor-trailer sustained serious injuries as a result of an alleged altercation on the road. did. according to press release.
“Evidence suggests that the driver of the tractor-trailer was assaulted by two adult males in a Volkswagen GTI hatchback,” the press release states. “During the assault, the driver of the tractor-trailer was struck with a hammer.”

The two men allegedly fled the scene before police arrived, but state troopers were able to obtain a description of the suspects and vehicle. MSP then issued a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) alert for the suspect and the Volkswagen.
Shortly after, the suspects were spotted in Marlborough and taken into custody by local police, MSP said. State troopers arrived on scene and took the two into custody. MSP said a woman was also in the car, but no charges were filed in the incident.

Kevin Roach, another truck driver who witnessed the incident, said: Said WCVB said they witnessed three people attacking the driver.
“I looked and it looked like these three guys with golf bags and golf clubs were on the ground and just getting hit,” he told the outlet.
Roach told the news outlet that he got out of his car to help the driver and videotaped the suspects fleeing the scene. “They jumped in the car and drove off, and that’s when I recorded the video.”
MSPs said charges against the two were still being finalized. One of the suspects was being treated at Marlborough Hospital for “injuries sustained during the altercation.”
