Three Men Arrested in San Jose Assault on Israeli-Americans
Three individuals have been taken into custody after they voluntarily came forward, facing accusations related to a disturbing attack on two Israeli-American victims at a restaurant in San Jose. This incident has left the local community shaken.
Ramon Acoyans, 18, Roman Acoyans, 20, and Brunil Chamaki, 32, turned themselves in to police on Monday, about a week after they allegedly targeted two Hebrew-speaking men outside the Augustine restaurant on Santana Row.
The violent incident, which authorities are looking into as a potential hate crime, was recorded and shared widely online. The footage shows three men in black T-shirts continuously hitting someone who was already on the ground.
According to police, the victims reported that the suspects used anti-Semitic remarks during their altercation.
Daniel Klein, CEO of Jewish Silicon Valley, spoke to KTVU about the event, describing how, while waiting for a table, the attackers struck one victim and then all three assaulted the other. One of the victims reportedly lost consciousness during the incident.
The San Jose Police Department addressed community concerns, stating, “We appreciate your patience as our investigators work diligently to ensure that this case is handled thoroughly and accurately. Those responsible for this violent crime will be held accountable.”
This ongoing investigation is in collaboration with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, which is expected to release more information shortly.
