Three police officers were shot and killed by a suspect in southeast Washington, D.C., on Wednesday morning and remain holed up, police said.
A spokesperson for the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department told the Post that the first call that an officer needed help was made at 8:06 a.m.

Shortly before 10 a.m., the subject barricaded himself in a residence and continued firing at police, the paper said.
“This remains a very active scene,” a police spokesperson told the Post.
Several roads around the scene were closed and two nearby elementary schools were sealed off. 7 News reported that Joy One wrote about Xciting DC Public Schools.
The three injured officers were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, a police spokesperson said.
A fourth police officer was also injured, but was not shot, according to NBC 4.
