Three-year-old boy attacked by would-be kidnapper endured severe facial cuts, photos reveal.

A 3-year-old boy who was attacked by a knife-wielding woman outside a Walmart in Nebraska is now recovering at home with his family following surgery.

Images obtained after the violent incident show little Sylar Hillman with stitches on his face and hands, cozily wrapped in a blanket on his father’s lap, clutching a stuffed animal.

His parents affectionately referred to him as their brave little cowboy and are optimistic about his recovery.

Sylar was injured when a woman named Noemi Guzman, 31, confronted him in the store. She had allegedly taken a knife from inside the Walmart and threatened the child and store manager before forcing them outside. Law enforcement responded shortly after the incident began, but Guzman continued to hold the knife against Sylar.

During a press conference, Deputy Police Chief Scott Gray reported that Guzman effectively kidnapped the child. When officers arrived on the scene, they asked her multiple times to drop the weapon, but she did not comply and ended up injuring the boy.

Body camera footage captures Guzman, with dyed red hair and a purple tank top, holding the knife dangerously close to Sylar’s face just as an officer draws his weapon and fires.

As a result of the attack, Sylar sustained severe cuts to his face and hand and was quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
