Tiffany Starts Campaign for Wisconsin Governor with Commitment to Improve Madison

Tom Tiffany Announces Run for Wisconsin Governor

Representative Tom Tiffany (R-WI) declared his candidacy for the 2026 Wisconsin Governor race on Tuesday, sharing a campaign video that outlines his aspirations for the state, particularly focusing on his background in dairy farming.

The announcement came shortly after Democrat Governor Tony Evers decided not to pursue a third term, leaving the governor’s office open for a competitive race.

“Growing up on a dairy farm in western Wisconsin, my mornings began at sunrise, milking cows and feeding calves,” Tiffany said in his video message. He reflected on his journey through the University of Wisconsin River Falls and building a life with his wife, Chris, in the North Woods. “Wisconsin has given me so much—an opportunity to raise three daughters, start small businesses, and live the American dream. But, unfortunately, under the Democrats’ leadership in Madison, that dream seems to be fading,” he added.

Tiffany emphasized his commitment to maintaining property tax freezes, protecting Wisconsin farmland from purchases by foreign entities, and ensuring the integrity of women’s sports. He remarked, “Moms are mothers, not ‘inusers,'” referencing changes made by Democrats to state laws that shifted language around motherhood.

“Madison’s politics may feel a bit chaotic, but I know how to tackle the mess,” he concluded with a rallying cry, “Together, we will make Wisconsin a shining star in America once again.”

This campaign marks the latest step in Tiffany’s years of legislative efforts, touching on various issues he has championed. In Washington, he has been active in response to tragedies, such as the deaths of two Wisconsin teenagers in a crash involving an undocumented immigrant. He has advocated for measures to cut federal funding for jurisdictions with sanctuary laws, and has called for reforms to the H-1B visa program to curb its misuse by universities and tech companies. Additionally, Tiffany has pushed for withdrawing the U.S. from the World Trade Organization, citing concerns over China’s trade practices and intellectual property theft that affect the U.S.
