Tiger Woods announced on Tuesday that his mother, Kurchida, has died. She was 78 years old.
The legendary PGA tour golfers were announced in X posts. He attached her statement and photos to the post. He and his family were sad, so he sought privacy.

“I would like to share my sorrowful sadness and share my beloved mother, Kurchida Woods, died early this morning,” Woods wrote. “My mother was all the power of her own nature, her spirit could not be simply denied. She was quick with a needle and laughter. She is my biggest fan and biggest supporter. It was loved by very many people, especially by her two grandchildren.
“Thank you for your support, prayer, and privacy for this difficult time for me and my family. Love your mother.”

Tiger was the only child of Kurchida and Earl Woods. Tiger has several brothers since his father's first marriage. Kurchida met Earl while doing his job in the Thai army. She was Thai, Chinese, and Dutch.
After marriage, Kurchida and Earl moved to Brooklyn, New York, and then moved to California Cypress, where Tiger was born.
ESPN pointed out Tiger, whose true name is Eldrick, was named after his mother and father. The name Eldrick began with respect to the Earl, and ended with K with respect to Kultida.
