Tiger Woods feels embarrassed about his DUI arrest following a rollover car accident.

Tiger Woods expressed feelings of “embarrassment” after being arrested for drunk driving following a car accident last month. According to a source, Woods is eager to address his issues, stating, “No one is more interested in seeing him win again than Tiger. He despises defeat and public shame.”

This sentiment mirrors Woods’ own comments made shortly after the crash, where he acknowledged the “seriousness of the situation” in a social media post.

The incident took place when Woods was driving at high speed near his Florida home and collided with a flatbed truck. Reports indicated that he was found at the crash site after having taken two hydrocodone tablets, appearing “sweaty” and at times “lethargic.”

Following the incident, Woods sought medical treatment outside the country. In his statement, he mentioned, “I have chosen to take some time off to focus on my health and seek treatment.” He added, “This is vital for me to prioritize my well-being and work towards a lasting recovery. I genuinely appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family and me during this time.”

This situation adds to a troubling history of arrests and incidents in Woods’ career, complicating his reputation as one of golf’s all-time greats.

He has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge, with a breathalyzer test showing no alcohol in his system. However, he declined to take a urine test at the scene of the accident.

A 15-time major champion, Woods had not disclosed his plans for the Masters before the crash and has not participated in a PGA Tour event since the British Open in July 2024. His absence looms over the upcoming tournament as fellow golfers react to his accident and recovery efforts.

“Just because he can hit the golf ball really well doesn’t mean he’s immune to struggles,” Jason Day remarked to reporters before the tournament. “Having undergone around 25 to 30 surgeries, it’s no surprise that coming back is painful. We all have our battles, and it’s tough to see him go through this, especially under such scrutiny.” He added, “I’m glad he’s seeking help. I hope he emerges healthier on the other side.”
