Tiger Woods launches new apparel company Sun Day Red after Nike split

Tiger Woods has officially launched his new clothing line.

The biggest name in gaming launched its “Sunday Red” brand in partnership with TaylorMade on Monday night at an event ahead of this week’s Genesis Invitational.

The launch of golf icon Woods’ new apparel brand comes after he announced in January that he was ending his 27-year relationship with Nike, leaving many wondering what’s next for Woods. It sparked speculation.

“This is the right time in my life,” Woods said Monday, according to the PGA Tour’s website. “It’s a transition period. I’m not a kid anymore. I want to continue building a brand that I can be proud of.”

The name “Sunday Red” first began to circulate after NUCLR GOLF discovered a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and reviewed it by The Post.

The new line will launch on May 1, and the Sunday Red brand will be a separate business from TaylorMade, with its own headquarters, staff and designers.

“It’s independent from TaylorMade and is run by an independent leadership group that is part of my team, and I couldn’t be more excited about it, so we can focus on what’s most important to this brand. ‘…This brand will have its own identity,’ said TaylorMade CEO David Abeles.

Woods’ relationship with TaylorMade dates back to 2017, when he began using TaylorMade clubs after Nike shut down its golf equipment business.

The new brand logo features a 15-striped tiger representing each major championship Woods won throughout his career.

Abeles told the Wall Street Journal that if Woods wins another major, he will add a 16th stripe to the logo.

The clothing is described as high-end apparel, including polo shirts that cost $115 to $135 and shoes that cost more than $200, according to the newspaper.

Red has been a symbol of Woods throughout his career, especially when he wore several variations to his game Sunday at the suggestion of his mother, Kultida.

“It started with my mother,” Woods said at Monday’s announcement event. “My mom is a Capricorn so she thought red was my power color, so I wore red as a junior golfer and won several tournaments. Lo and behold, I went to a red college. , Stanford is also red. We wore red on the last day of every tournament, and since then I’ve worn red in every tournament I’ve played professionally. It’s just become synonymous with me.”
