Tiger Woods’ leg scar seen in rare photograph at golf tournament

Tiger Woods gave spectators a rare glimpse of his leg, which was severely injured in a 2021 accident in California, at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in Michigan on Monday.

Woods wears shorts or leg sleeves while on the golf course for practice and tournaments. While watching his son play in an amateur tournament, Woods was spotted wearing shorts with no leg sleeves. A Getty Images photographer captured a photo of his legs.

The photo showed a large scar on Woods’ leg.

Woods was in an accident in February 2021 that shattered bones in his right leg and required a rod to be placed in his tibia and screws and pins in his ankle to stabilise the injury.

Woods said in a November 2021 interview. Golf Digest There was a moment immediately after the accident when it seriously looked like he might have to have his leg amputated.

“I wouldn’t say it was 50/50, but it was pretty close to me walking out of the hospital on one leg,” he said. “I wanted to see if I still had my hands, so while I was there I had (then-girlfriend Erica Herman) and (friend Rob McNamara) throw me things, anything.”

Since the accident, Woods has been working hard to get back into shape and play in tournaments again.

But the 2024 golf season is one Woods would like to forget, as he missed the cut in three of the four majors and finished 60th at the Masters.
