On Wednesday, 82-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods surprised the golf world by announcing his next appearance on the PGA Tour. He will host the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club from February 15-18.
casual forest tweeted his decision By lunch time, he was scheduled to not only host the event, but also perform. It will be Big Cat’s first start of 2024 since returning at the Hero World Challenge and PNC Championship last December.
“Excited to be hosting @thegenesisinv next week,” he wrote.
He competed in the tournament last year as well, but this was the only time he did not withdraw before surgery. Woods qualified, played all four days, and finished T45.
This news came out of nowhere, but it’s a welcome one as fans look forward to another chance to see the Big Cat tee up at Riviera Country Club.
The 15-time major champion has already been in the spotlight this week, tweeting a cryptic message about February 12th and how his vision remains the same. Woods is believed to be announcing a new brand amid his breakup with Nike.
No matter how the news turns out, one thing is certain. The field at the Genesis Invitational was made even better by his play.
