Tiger Woods odds, picks, best bets

Tiger Woods is getting a lot of support from sports bettors ahead of this weekend’s Genesis Invitational.

With +12,500 to win the tournament, Woods is BetMGM’s highest-stakes player with the best chance of winning, according to John Ewing, the sportsbook’s public relations manager.

Woods qualified at -125 and is also the player most bet to play this weekend at Los Angeles’ Riviera Golf Course.

About 80 percent of the bet is on him qualifying. per ewing.

Woods will also be in the top 5 this weekend at +2500 and in the top 20 at +360.

FanDuel Sportsbook is giving Woods a boost heading into his first round, which kicks off at 12:25 PM ET on Thursday, with +100 odds for Tiger to score three or more birdies in the first round.

Woods will make his first PGA Tour start since the Masters, a tournament held for a limited number of top golfers, at Riviera after undergoing ankle surgery on Thursday.

The golf legend has played in the tournament 12 times as a professional but has never won, including a 45th-place finish last year.

Scottie Scheffler enters the tournament as the consensus betting favorite at +650 (FanDuel Sportsbook).

Rory McIlroy has the second-best odds on FanDuel at +1000, with Viktor Hovland (+1400), Xander Schauffele (+1600), and Justin Thomas (+1600) rounding out the top five.

The only players with odds of 20/1 or higher are Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay at +1800 and Ludwig Aberg and Max Homa at +2000.

Long shots have been a hot topic on the PGA Tour so far this season.

Nick Taylor’s victory at last weekend’s Waste Management Phoenix Open marked the sixth consecutive time on the PGA Tour that a winner has had triple-digit odds to win the tournament.

At +15,000, Taylor had slightly longer odds than Woods going into this weekend’s play.
