The wait for Tiger Woods to return to competitive golf continues.
The 15-time major champion announced in a social media post on Monday that he will not be competing in this year's Hero World Challenge.
Woods will host the event, which will be held at Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas from December 5th to 8th.
“While I'm disappointed not to be competing in the Hero World Challenge this year, I always look forward to hosting the tournament and spending the week with @HeroMotoCorp.” Woods wrote about X.
The 48-year-old Woods shot 14-over in what would have been his first attempt at competitive golf since missing out on qualifying for the British Open at Royal Troon in July.
He had his sixth hip surgery in September, and his recovery is taking even longer.

“The surgery went well,” Woods said at the time. “I am hopeful that this will alleviate the back spasm and pain I have been experiencing through most of the 2024 season.” “I look forward to working on this rehabilitation and getting ready to return to normal life activities, including golf.”
In a post Monday, Woods welcomed Justin Thomas, Jason Day and Nick Dunlap who were exempted to the Heroes Tournament.
