TikTok Star Fatally Shot by Partner in Florida
A TikTok personality known for her vibrant hairstyles was shot and killed by her girlfriend during a conflict in their car in Florida. The Broward Sheriff’s Office reported that 21-year-old Maurice Harrison, who went by “@Girlalala” on social media, was discovered in the passenger seat of a vehicle in Lauderdale Lakes, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds around 7 p.m. on Friday.
Emergency services transported Harrison to a local hospital, where he was later declared dead.
The suspect, Chanoid White Jr., Harrison’s girlfriend of seven years, was arrested at the scene, where authorities also found a firearm. Investigators revealed that the pair had been involved in an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation before the shooting occurred.
According to police, “At some point, the victim was shot while sitting in his vehicle.”
CCTV footage captured the moments leading up to the incident, showing White Jr., 25, leaning out of the passenger door and appearing to wield a gun before pushing Harrison back into the vehicle.
White Jr., a former defensive lineman at Bethune-Cookman University, is currently detained in the Broward County Jail with no bail, facing charges of first-degree murder with a firearm.
Harrison, a hairstylist from Pompano Beach, had over 235,000 followers on TikTok before her account was deactivated and still has an active Instagram account with more than 41,000 followers. She was beloved for her creative and colorful hairstyles and described herself as a “wig influencer” on her TikTok.
In the wake of her passing, a GoFundMe has been set up to aid with funeral expenses, including a $5,000 contribution from City Girls rapper JT. The rapper also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, celebrating Harrison’s vibrant spirit and expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
“Rest, beautiful girl! We love you,” JT wrote, highlighting Harrison’s colorful personality and how she would be missed. She included hashtags like “#ProtectTransWomen” and “#ProtectBlackWomen,” advocating for the protection of all women.
Following the news of Harrison’s death, fans began sharing older videos that implied a history of tension in her relationship with White Jr. Some footage featured Harrison with injuries, indicating ongoing conflicts between the two.
If convicted, White Jr. faces the possibility of life in prison or even the death penalty, as per Florida law.
