TikTok star gains attention by sharing her reasons for not wanting to split expenses

Becca Bloom, the Queen of #RichTok, Reveals Her Views on Gender Equality

Boasting over 4.8 million followers on TikTok, Becca Bloom is well-known for her opulent lifestyle. Recently, her video explaining why she doesn’t share expenses with her husband garnered significant attention. In her view, real economic equality is unattainable because of the existing “gender gap.”

Bloom expressed in her video that she believes it’s the “minimum” for her husband to cover all their expenses. Interestingly, her husband’s family comprises successful tech entrepreneurs and real estate investors, with their company valued at $98.2 million back in 2010.

On her TikTok, Bloom shares her extravagant tastes, showcasing shopping trips to high-end stores like Hermès, enjoying caviar, and flaunting her stunning Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry.

A Bold Statement on Financial Responsibility

In her TikTok commentary, Bloom pointed out that women exist in a society where “equality never existed to begin with.” She reinforced her point by citing that women typically earn about 80% of what men make for the same work, implying a pervasive imbalance.

Bloom characterized equality as a “balanced responsibility” and argued that true equity involves recognizing the significant societal and economic disparities between genders. She also highlighted that, in dating, women often incur costs just to conform to beauty standards, which she estimates could range around $400 monthly, standards set largely “by men.”

Additionally, Bloom touched on safety concerns more prevalent for women, explaining how many share their whereabouts with friends or carry safety items to feel secure on dates.

Mixed Reactions and Defenses

Reactions to Bloom’s statements have been quite divisive. Some users expressed skepticism, noting her billionaire status as a reason to question her perspective on equality. Conversely, others defended her, suggesting that wealth doesn’t disqualify someone from discussing important topics like gender equality. One commenter even encouraged her to amplify her message.

Despite the praise and criticism, Bloom later responded to the backlash, stating, “When someone can’t dispute a point, they end up contesting the existence of the person who asserted it.”

The discourse surrounding her comments reflects a broader conversation about gender roles and economic responsibility that continues to resonate across communities.
