A TikTok video by a Venezuelan immigrant went viral after allegedly encouraging undocumented immigrants to find vacant homes and become squatters.
Leonel Moreno told his 500,000 followers on TikTok that they can use squatter’s rights to take over American homes. Moreno said he knew of an African man who used illegal possession laws to take over seven homes.
“I was trying to break into a house in the United States,” the man said in Spanish. “I learned that there is a law that says unoccupied homes can be repossessed.”
He went on to say that the law allows people to seize dilapidated and dilapidated homes in order to repair and occupy them, but it distorts squatters’ rights, which vary widely from state to state, and overreaches. He argued that it was simplified.
“Thank you, Democrats.”
Moreno’s videos on TikTok have garnered millions of views, and one repost on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, garnered more than 8.5 million views. Given that he encouraged illegal aliens to occupy homes, many reacted with angry hostility.
“If you were to enter my house, you would be ingesting more lead than the water dispenser in my elementary school when I was a child.”
