Tim Allen’s Key to His 20-Year Marriage
Tim Allen recently shared insights into his nearly 20-year marriage to Jane Haiduk during an interview. He noted that humor plays a crucial role in their relationship, saying, “I think a sense of humor saves us many times.”
Reflecting on some personal moments, he mentioned how they were talking about their daughter, Elizabeth, who will be starting 4th grade soon, and how Jane made a funny remark while they were in a golf cart. “We’re both not good at golf,” he added, indicating the light-hearted moments they share.
He confessed that he had somewhat forgotten how much he appreciates Jane’s sense of humor. “We’re two very different people,” he explained, highlighting her athletic abilities and his involvement in her training. Though he isn’t Catholic, he’s joined her in practices that reflect her beliefs, which he thinks impresses her. “We pull a little bit on both sides,” he remarked, indicating that their differing backgrounds do not create division.

Allen and Haiduk began dating around 2001 and were married in 2006 in a private ceremony. They welcomed their daughter, Elizabeth, in 2009, while Tim also has a daughter, Katherine, from a previous marriage.
In a recent update, Jane mentioned that they have been exploring new activities together to keep their relationship vibrant. “Our new activities are expanding,” she said, referring to plans like going to a stretch lab and having breakfast together. Tim echoed her sentiment about their friendship contributing greatly to their marriage, saying, “That’s right, we talk. And we’re good friends.” It’s this strong foundation they’ve built—alongside a sense of humor—that seems to keep their love alive.
