Sen. Tim Scott Responds to “Morning Joe” Criticism
Senator Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina, recently took aim at the “Morning Joe” panel during his appearance on “Saturday in America.” The show’s hosts had poked fun at his passionate speech at the Republican midterm convention, even playfully praying for him. In response, Scott brushed off the mockery and accused the program of shying away from the truth, reinforcing his belief that Democrats “hate what it means to be American.”
“At the end of the day, now we know why Joe’s ratings are so low. They will hide from the truth, and they will publicly endorse a lie,” he stated.
Scott expressed concern about what he sees as an attack on American culture, alleging that “this group of Democrats” promotes extreme ideas, such as the belief in multiple genders and a non-binary concept of God. He challenged listeners, saying, “If you don’t want to stand up and fight for the soul of this country, your wood is wet. It’s that simple.”
His emphatic address was part of the GOP’s inaugural midterm convention in Dallas, where he called for a united Republican front in support of President Donald J. Trump. “The only way to keep dangerous, radical, weird out of the Senate is a united Republican Party, standing with our President!” Scott declared.
He argued that this is a struggle for the nation’s heart, insisting that the Democrats’ extreme candidates would not succeed. “They hate our culture,” Scott said, adding, “They hate what it means to be American. Hear me, Dallas. Not! On! Our! Watch! We will not back down. We will not grow weary.”
In the wake of his remarks, co-host Joe Scarborough critiqued Scott’s speech as “really weird,” suggesting he needed “some anti-seizure medication.”
Scott defended his views by stressing the importance of electing competent leaders who appreciate the America that exists rather than trying to reshape it into something else. He referenced the radical ideas put forth by some Democratic candidates, asserting, “These candidates want a different America. We stand firm on the fact that we are always one nation, always under God.”
The “Morning Joe” panel, which included Al Sharpton, humorously joined hands and prayed for Scott, indicating that he might need some grounding. Sharpton remarked, “Tim Scott needs an intersection. He needs an interception and intersection because he is really out there. Bring him back in, Lord!”
