Tim Walz criticized for his answer to a specific question during congressional hearing

Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz is facing significant backlash following his remarks during a hearing on Thursday where several governors were questioned by South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace.

At one point in the exchange, Mace asked Waltz a rather direct question: “What is a woman?” After exploring various topics—including Waltz’s time in China during the late 1980s, military service, and comparisons between immigration officials and the Gestapo—Mace veered back to this fundamental inquiry.

Waltz seemed to pause and collect his thoughts before responding, “I don’t know the question here. What do you want to say to me?”

In response, Mace asserted, “I want you to say that women like me are adult human women. Men can’t be women. You are part of a party that disrespects women and perpetuates violence against us. You are a misogynist.”

As Waltz attempted to respond, the committee chairman moved on to the next question, leaving Waltz laughing awkwardly at the situation.

Mace later shared her thoughts on social media, declaring, “Tampon Tim Waltz couldn’t define a woman today when I had him in the pressure pot. He was speechless.”

Some commentators remarked that Waltz seemed unprepared for such a straightforward question, raising eyebrows regarding his handling of the topic. Others pointed out that this could reflect broader issues in his governance.

Overall, the exchange has sparked discussions on accountability and definitions related to gender, leaving many wondering about the implications of such dialogues in political settings.
