CLAIM: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) repeated false claims that President Trump wants pregnancy monitoring devices, or “registries.”
Verdict: False. President Trump has never proposed such a thing, preferring to leave abortion policy up to each state.
Walz, like Vice President Kamala Harris, brought up a false claim he has used before during Tuesday night's vice presidential debate on CBS News.
Breitbart News recently fact-checked this with Walz.
The claim is Apparently It was part of Mr. Walz's stump speech, repeated at every opportunity throughout the United States.
Trump never said anything like that, and this claim has been fact-checked by Breitbart to be false, and USA Today.
Breitbart News speculates that the source of this claim is a misreading of Project 2025. Project 2025 is not a Trump policy; it does not even call for the creation of abortion “monitors” or “coordinators,” but rather to collect more data on pregnancies.
USA Todaytook up similar claims on social media in May, identified The source of this misinformation is a social media post by the left-wing group Occupy Democrats, which often spreads fake news with virtually no punishment.

Walz admitted during the debate that his source of information was actually Project 2025. The document says nothing about pregnancy monitors or registration. It simply says states should be required to share public health data on abortion.
Nevertheless, President Trump has rejected the document, repeatedly saying abortion policy should be left to the states.
Given a chance to respond, Vance said Trump never supported “pregnancy registries” or monitors.
