Time professional protester Jason Reedy confronts senior officer

A professional protester, known for shouting insults at police while using children as a shield, was recently spotted calling an LAPD officer a “pig” during a heated incident with one of the department’s senior officials.

In footage captured at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day event in Leimert Park, Los Angeles, agitator Jason Reedy approaches Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton and confronts him and other officers.

Reedy questioned why Hamilton was at the event, to which the deputy chief responded that he was there “to protect children from being sexually abused,” apparently addressing the protesters around him.

Reedy fired back, accusing Hamilton of being part of the problem: “You pigs sexually abuse children.”

During their exchange, Hamilton referenced his knowledge of Reedy’s background and intentions, asserting that he is “from here” and focused on community safety. “I know your past, dude. It’s my job to know that. I know you well enough,” he remarked.

It’s not entirely clear how the tension escalated, as the clip Reedy shared seems to have been edited, missing some context.

Previously, Reedy had tried to confront LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell about the rise in police shootings. After McDonnell left, Reedy redirected his frustration toward Hamilton.

Hamilton later explained that the comment regarding sexual abuse was misinterpreted, clarifying that it was aimed at Reedy’s incitements towards young officers rather than any misconduct towards children.

Notoriously aggressive, Reedy is often seen confronting law enforcement at various official events, frequently with young children in tow, proclaiming obscenities and instigating situations.

Recently, he made headlines again by threatening a California Post reporter, asking, “You’re scared of me, aren’t you?”

Hamilton remarked that Reedy might have used technology to distort the recording, alleging that Reedy omitted sections where he insulted officers or questioned Hamilton’s lineage, a claim that Reedy denied.

“That guy told me everything,” Hamilton said, mentioning his intent was to shield rookie officers from Reedy’s provocations. “I’m talking about kids in uniform, 20-year-old police officers. I said, ‘Please stop molesting them…’ That’s not fair. The officers who came in today have nothing to do with the historical problems we have in this department.”

Reedy continues to gain attention for his confrontational style, especially at meetings involving the Los Angeles Police Commission and the City Council.

He is known to bring his children along, sometimes holding a baby against his chest while vocally challenging officials.

The recent exchange with Hamilton has further fueled his notoriety, showcasing the contentious environment surrounding police and community relations.
