Nvidia CEO and Prominent Tech Figures Named Architects of AI
Time has recognized notable tech leaders, including Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Sam Altman of OpenAI, as its 2025 People of the Year. This group has been collectively referred to as the “Architects of AI.”
By 2025, artificial intelligence has emerged as a transformative force, rapidly altering various sectors including industry, economy, and global relations. In this context, Time has highlighted the crucial role these leaders play in shaping AI technologies. With figures like Huang, Altman, Musk, Zuckerberg, and Dario Amodei from Anthropic at the forefront, the impact of AI is becoming more pronounced.
The surge in AI technology is reshaping how businesses operate, driving them to either adapt or risk losing relevance. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, for instance, has achieved over 800 million weekly users, becoming the fastest-growing consumer application ever. AI is actively contributing to everything from coding and scientific research to generating content that goes viral. However, alongside these benefits, researchers point to significant concerns regarding AI’s ability to deceive and manipulate, which raises questions about the associated risks.
During the Trump administration, the US government strengthened its collaboration with the tech industry, creating policies favorable to AI development and investing heavily in technology as part of its competitive stance against China. The quest for AI dominance is reshaping international relations, serving as a strategic diplomatic tool. AI is affecting daily life as well, with chatbots now serving purposes from providing emotional support to assisting in business operations. Yet, this rapid technological adoption is also fraught with challenges, including job displacement and mental health implications for youth. Notably, a lawsuit against ChatGPT has labeled it a “suicide coach” in the wake of a teenager’s tragic death.
In a commentary reflecting on Time’s decision, Breitbart News Social Media Director Wynton Hall noted the significance of AI architects, suggesting that recognizing them highlights substantial shifts happening in society. He emphasized that AI is not merely a tool but a powerful political element with profound implications, impacting education, national defense, and more.
Hall argued that those in the conservative movement should focus keenly on AI policy, just as they do on other societal issues, as knowledge of evolving technologies will influence political and economic success in the future.
