Days after an arrest warrant was issued in New Mexico for Timothy Busfield, known for his role in “Thirty Something,” U.S. Marshals have taken over the effort to locate and arrest him. According to Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department (APD), they are collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Service to apprehend Busfield, though no specific timeline has been given.
The Associated Press reports that the arrest warrant was filed on January 9. Investigations began after a child alleged that Busfield had inappropriately touched her.
The incidents are said to have occurred during the filming of “Cleaning Women,” where Busfield both acted and directed. The child, who was reportedly seven at the time, claimed that Busfield touched her several times, with additional alleged instances occurring when she was eight.
Warner Bros. Television, in response to the accusations, stated that the safety of minors is their top priority. They expressed seriousness about the claims and affirmed their commitment to cooperate with law enforcement.
The police investigation began on November 1, 2024, after a medical professional at the University of New Mexico Hospital reported suspected abuse to authorities.
In the wake of the arrest warrant, Busfield’s wife, actress Melissa Gilbert, has reportedly taken down her Instagram account. The couple has been married since 2013.
