Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish Cyrus, says she would have been a “better parent” if she had started smoking marijuana while her children were younger.
talking about her “Sorry, we’re stoned.” On the podcast, Tish opened up about motherhood in conversation with special guest rapper Wiz Khalifa.
“I didn’t smoke weed when I had kids. I started smoking when I was about 46 years old, so I think I would have been a better parent if I had smoked then,” 56 said Tish, who is 20 years old.
“I think it felt more like a school project. It would have felt more fun.”
Tish’s daughter Brandi Cyrus, who co-hosts the podcast, said if her mother had consumed marijuana earlier in life, “she would have been more tolerant.”
The Cyrus family matriarch explained that she typically smokes a joint several times throughout the day.
“Since I started smoking weed, my decision-making has become much better,” she said. “I would never say cannabis is for everyone, and it definitely isn’t. But for me personally, it was the best thing that ever happened.”
Tish shares children Miley, Brayson, and Noah with ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus.
She also shares a trace with Brandi from a previous relationship. After the country singer married Tish in 1993, she adopted the pair.
Tish waited two years before filing for divorce in April 2022, but Tish and Billy Ray filed for divorce soon after.
The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer got engaged to fellow musician Joanna “Firerose” Hodges in August of the same year. The two got married in October 2023.
Meanwhile, Tish got engaged to “Prison Break” star Dominic Purcell in April last year, and announced in August that they were “getting married.”

And the breakup wasn’t without drama.
Late last week, multiple media outlets reported that Tish’s daughter Noah was suspected of dating her mother’s current husband.
