Texans and Titans Eye First Wins of the Season
The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans are both looking to secure their first victories of the season. This Sunday, the Texans will be hosting the Titans in a matchup that holds significant weight for both teams. Leading up to this AFC South clash, some playful banter has emerged between players—particularly between Tennessee cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and Houston wide receiver Nico Collins.
During a media session, Sneed seemed to downplay Collins’s impact. When asked about the challenge posed by Collins, Sneed responded with a rhetorical, “Who?” A reporter prompted Sneed again, confirming it was indeed Collins he was referring to. Sneed repeated his question, with a smirk, perhaps brushing off Collins’s reputation.
Collins didn’t let the jab slide. He shot back, saying, “He knows who I am,” suggesting that Sneed’s dismissal was a bit of showmanship.
Before addressing Sneed’s comments, Collins expressed his eagerness for the game. “It’s going to be fun,” he stated, capturing the excitement surrounding this pivotal division matchup.
The following day, Titans cornerback coach Tony Auden sought to downplay the competitive tension. “It definitely wasn’t an egg,” he mentioned to reporters, adding that respect exists between players on both sides. “It’s about us,” he emphasized, hinting that focus should be directed at gameplay rather than personal exchanges.
As the teams prepare for the game, Collins brings in a tally of 181 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the first three weeks. Meanwhile, Sneed has managed five tackles in the same span, coming off four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs before joining the Titans.
The Titans-Texans game is set to kick off on September 28th at 1 p.m. EDT.
