The Tennessee Titans are planning to hire Brian Callahan as their next head coach, according to multiple reports.

Callahan, a former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator, will replace Mike Vrabel, NFL Network reported on Monday. Callahan reportedly had a second interview with the Titans earlier in the day, but the team wasn't going to let him leave without taking the job.

The 39-year-old is the son of former Raiders head coach Bill Callahan. He has been working in the NFL since 2010, when he served as a coaching assistant with the Denver Broncos. He worked his way up to becoming the Broncos' offensive assistant in 2013, leaving that post after the 2015 season.

The Detroit Lions hired Callahan as the team's quarterbacks coach during the 2016 and 2017 seasons, and he then served as the quarterbacks coach for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2018. He was hired as the Bengals' offensive coordinator in 2019 and helped coach the team. He led the team to a Super Bowl appearance with Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon on the offensive line.

Currently, Callahan appears to be taking over as the Titans' next head coach in hopes of rebuilding the team.

Tennessee hasn't been back since Jeff Fisher led Tennessee to the Super Bowl during the 1999 season. The Titans have had four coaches since the end of the Fisher era. Callahan finished fifth.
