TLC Cancels Concerts After T-Boz Suffers Medical Crisis

T-Boz, one of the final two members of 1990s hip-hop/R&B group TLC, has reportedly suffered a “severe abdominal blockage” and has had to cancel two upcoming concerts.

group Revealed The band announced in an Instagram Story over the weekend that T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, suffered a “severe abdominal blockage,” forcing them to cancel their shows at the New York State Fair on Friday and Foxwoods, Connecticut on Saturday.

“After a stunning performance in Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, TLC was excited to begin their next show at the New York State Fair in Syracuse,” the statement began. “However, shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins experienced sudden, severe nausea, vomiting and severe abdominal cramps. She was immediately evaluated by a physician and then transported to the hospital for further evaluation.”

“Last night, Tionne was diagnosed with a severe abdominal blockage, forcing her to cancel her shows in Syracuse and Foxwoods. She remains in the hospital under medical supervision and is expected to be released tomorrow. Doctors have diagnosed her with an abdominal blockage, not food poisoning,” it continued.

The statement went on to say that T-Boz “deeply regrets having to cancel these shows and offers his sincere apologies to all his fans and event organizers.”

“The decision to cancel was made following medical instructions for her to remain in hospital overnight to undergo a CT scan to assess the severity of her condition,” the statement concluded.

T-Boz said She said in a statement on her Instagram that she was “on the road to recovery.”

“This is just one of those unexpected events that are out of my control,” the “Waterfalls” singer said. “I look forward to giving back to you all… and hopefully being released from the hospital soon. If all goes well, I will be released tomorrow! Thank you for your understanding… may you always be a blessing.”

T-Boz, along with Rozonda “Chili” Thomas, are one of the last two members of the iconic group following the tragic death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez in a car accident in Honduras in 2002. After a lengthy hiatus, the group reunited in 2015 and began touring again following the release of their biographical film on MTV.
