Todd Chrisley fired from prison chapel job for being too chatty with inmates

Todd Chrisley is no longer employed at the prison.

The former reality star is currently serving a 12-year sentence for bank fraud and tax evasion, but has been released from his prison chapel position, according to his lawyer Jay Sargent.

Sargent told Page Six that his client, who is serving his sentence at the Pensacola Federal Penitentiary Camp in Florida, “was never given any actual reason for his termination as an administrative assistant to a Pensacola chaplain.”

He continued, “He was said to be speaking to.” [Residential Drug Abuse Program] participants, and it was not allowed. He served in this volunteer capacity for almost two years, and it was confirmed that the pastor was always satisfied with his service. ”

Prosecutors accused the former reality stars of submitting false documents to banks when applying for loans. They also alleged that Julie, 51, submitted false credit reports and bank statements when she tried to rent a home in California.

Last September, Page Six reported that Todd and Julie's sentences were commuted and each was given more than a year off.

Savannah Chrisley, Todd and Julie's daughter, revealed that her father has been dealing with some issues since going to prison.

In November 2023, the 27-year-old host of the podcast Unlocked revealed that Todd faced retaliation after he began advocating for prison reform.

Savannah claimed that Todd was prohibited from arranging a phone call with an attorney.

The following month, Todd spoke out about the terrible conditions at the prison, telling Newsweek's Brian Entin that the food “had dates on it” and dead cats were falling on top of the food.

He also claimed that rats and squirrels were found in a storage facility near inmate food.
