Todd Gurley, NFL Star, Supports Trump in Georgia

Todd Gurley Joins Trump at Georgia Rally Ahead of Midterms

Former NFL running back Todd Gurley appeared alongside President Donald Trump at a rally in Georgia on Friday, which is notable as midterm elections are approaching in just over two weeks.

Gurley traveled with Trump on Air Force One to Georgia, later joining the motorcade that took them to the rally held in Dalton. Toward the end of his speaking time, Trump invited Gurley on stage.

“Well, he was the NFL Rookie of the Year. He was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year. He led the league in rushing touchdowns and was the youngest player in NFL history to reach 50 career touchdowns. So, yeah, he is a good player,” Trump remarked.

Having played for the Georgia Bulldogs in college before his NFL career with the St. Louis and Los Angeles Rams as well as the Atlanta Falcons, Gurley engaged the crowd with an enthusiastic “Go Dawgs!”

“I want to thank President Trump for the experience: being on Air Force One, welcoming me into the White House. Thanks so much. And thank you to Georgia for everything you’ve done for me. Go Dawgs,” Gurley expressed.

Gurley is among several notable athletes who have appeared with Trump in efforts to rally support for Republican candidates in the lead-up to the elections.

Trump previously campaigned alongside figures such as baseball legend Roger Clemens in Texas, boxing icon Mike Tyson in New York, former NFL Coach John Gruden, YouTuber Jake Paul in Ohio, and undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather in Arizona.

The president also motivated Georgians to vote for Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins and GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson as they face Democratic opponents, Senator Jon Ossoff and former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

“It’s time to fire John Ossoff and elect Mike Collins, one of the most respected men in Washington,” Trump said as he introduced Collins to the audience.

Collins emphasized the importance of the upcoming race, noting, “This race is sitting right here. Early voting has already started. We just need to reach out and grab this opportunity.”

He encouraged those present to vote and to bring others along to ensure a strong turnout. Collins promised to support the SAVE America Act aimed at securing American elections if he’s elected.

Trump praised Jackson as “a truly great patriot” while criticizing Lance Bottoms, saying, “She’s an incompetent disaster who eliminated cash bail for dangerous criminals, turned Atlanta into a deadly sanctuary city, and if she becomes governor, she will ruin your state.”
