Tom Brady Returns to Orchard Park
Tom Brady made his way back to Orchard Park, New York, on Sunday for the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It was a notable return for him, being his first time at Highmark Stadium since his NFL playing days.
The reception from Bills fans, well, it wasn’t exactly warm. During the game, FOX broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt asked Brady if he felt any affection from the crowd as he took on the role of color commentator.
Brady responded, “Oh, warm hugs. A lot of people gave me a one-finger salute as I looked down from the press box. I think it was a reminder of how much they enjoyed watching me go down.” Burkhardt chimed in, pointing out, “They said you were No. 1.”
In terms of his legacy, Brady spent two decades with the New England Patriots and another three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring after the 2022 season. While with the Patriots, he led the team to six Super Bowl victories and 17 AFC East titles. Interestingly, the Bills claimed the AFC East title after Brady departed.
Brady faced the Bills 36 times during his career, achieving a remarkable 33 wins, tossing in 9,032 passing yards and 72 touchdowns against them. This success against the Bills marked the highest win total he had against any team, and the touchdowns he threw were the most against a single opponent. The only team that comes close to matching his level of domination is, interestingly, the New York Jets.
As for the game itself, the Bills put together a commendable fight, overcoming a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter. However, they fell short as the Eagles clinched a 13-12 victory.
