Summer has officially begun for Tom Brady.
The legendary NFL quarterback posted a video to Instagram on Monday of himself enjoying his holiday weekend with his children, son Benjamin and daughter Vivian, doing water sports and soaking up the sun.
“Are you feeling okay as summer begins? Hoping everyone has a great MDW!” Brady, 46, captioned the video.
In the video, the seven-time Super Bowl champion can be seen wakeboarding, and the group is also filmed splashing around on a boat.
Brady has two children, Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, and also has a 16-year-old son, Jack, with ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan.
The former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback appears to be making the most of his summer break before stepping into the press box as Fox’s lead NFL commentator this fall.
He replaces Greg Olsen, who was paired with Kevin Burkhart on the network’s top team.
Olsen, who will remain with Fox as part of the company’s No. 2 NFL announcing team along with Joe Davis, recently told USA Today that Brady has consulted with Olsen as part of his preparation.
“It was nice to share some of that with him.” Olsen says“Obviously, his playing history and career and stuff like that is historic. So we’ll see how this year goes. I don’t think there’s any real correlation between a great player or an average player and whether it’s a great announcer or an average announcer. I think we’ve seen both extremes of that.”
Last week, the former NFL tight end was awarded the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst for his work this season.
Brady, who retires from the NFL in February 2023 after 23 seasons, said he had several in-studio meetings with Burkhart in January.
“I’ve been out to Fox Studios a few times and rehearsed a lot with Kevin. He’s done a great job. I’m very excited to be joining such a great team,” Brady said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
It’s been an eventful start to the summer season for Brady, coming just weeks after his highly publicized and controversial roast on Netflix.
“I don’t like the effect it’s having on kids,” Brady said on “The Pivot” podcast a few days after the special aired on the streamer.
“I loved the jokes about me. I thought they were fun. But I didn’t like the way it affected my kids,” Brady said.
“The hardest part about the bittersweet aspect is when you do something that you think you are and you think, ‘I’m never going to do that again because I affected the most important people in the world.'”
“Going through it makes you a better parent, because sometimes you’re naive. You don’t know… I was happy that people were making fun of me when I signed up for it.”
Bundchen, whose divorce from Brady was finalized in 2022 after 13 years of marriage, has been the center of several jokes. According to the source, The supermodel later said she was “deeply disappointed.”
