Tom Brady gives behind-the-scenes account of Fox debut

Tom Brady knows he needs to improve.

He gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at his NFL broadcast debut In the latest video from the YouTube series “Last Week”who was spotted aboard a plane before and after the Cowboys-Browns Week 1 game.

“I'm not tired from the game, I'm just tired from the preparation,” Brady said near the end of the video. “Emotions are pretty high and I'm not sure what to expect. Obviously it's a lot of fun. There are definitely some things I need to improve on. So this is all a learning process.”

“… I felt like I was doing what I needed to do, and I know it's going to get better.”

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, signed a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox after retiring from the NFL and became a commentator on the network's primary broadcast team alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhart, but his first time in the booth saw mixed results.

During a pregame flight over Cleveland, Brady joked about the bad weather.

“I'm happy I'm covering the game and not at the game,” Brady said, “I'm in a covered booth and I'm really comfortable in my clothes.”

“There's not a day like this all year round in Florida,” Brady said later, “and for the record, I'm not as tough as I used to be.”

After the game, Brady shared a warm moment with his son, Jack, whom he has with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

Brady told Jack, “I was thinking about you the whole game,” to which Jack replied, “Thanks, Dad. Good job.”

Brady is scheduled to call the Cowboys again in Week 2, this time in Dallas against the Saints.
