Tom Brady Honored with Statue in Foxborough
Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady made a return to Foxborough, Massachusetts, this past Friday. He attended a ceremony marking the start of the New England Patriots’ 2025 pre-season, where a significant moment came as he unveiled a 12-foot bronze statue depicting his likeness.
The statue, a tribute to Brady, who has won seven Super Bowl titles, was positioned near the Patriots Hall of Fame at Patriot Place, just beyond the entrance of Gillette Stadium.
Brady holds the distinction of being the first player in the franchise’s history to be honored with a statue. The creation, commissioned by Robert Kraft, the long-standing team owner, reflects the deep admiration the franchise has for its legendary quarterback.
“Tommy, you didn’t just etch your name into NFL history. You etched it into all our minds,” Kraft expressed during the ceremony. “And now, your portrait will be forever taller at Gillette Stadium, just as you did — tall, calm, standing at laser center. People may forget what I said tonight, but may this statue remind us forever of what Tom Brady did and how he made us feel.”
The impressive statue captures Brady in a classic celebration pose, fist raised—though it doesn’t specifically commemorate a single moment from his remarkable two-decade career with the team. The design of his face is strikingly focused, echoing the expression he often wore during critical game moments.
In his speech, Brady took a moment to acknowledge his teammates, reflecting on their contributions and how meaningful the day was for him, especially with many of them in attendance.
“Look, I know what this statue represents. It’s not about a single man. It was never the case,” Brady noted. “And in football, it’s never going to happen. It’s about commitment to great things with the team.”
Brady, regarded as the most accomplished player in a Patriots uniform, captured six of his seven Super Bowl titles with the team. He concluded his illustrious career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning yet another championship before his retirement.
Brady had previously returned to New England in June 2024 for the Patriots Hall of Fame ceremony, making this most recent visit another significant moment in his connection to the region.
