Tom Brady Takes a Subtle Jab at Gisele Bündchen in Parenting Newsletter

In his latest newsletter, Tom Brady seems to take a swipe at his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, while discussing his approach to parenting.

Brady mentioned, “I think part of being a great father is being a great example—doing what’s necessary to care for your family.” He shared this in his 199th newsletter released on Tuesday, explaining his commitment to soccer as a way to support his family.

He elaborated, saying, “My dedication to the sport, the time spent practicing—it all felt like the best choice for my children. There’s a lot that goes into being truly good at your job. It’s about following through on commitments and being a reliable teammate.”

He also reflected on the misconception that simply reading bedtime stories or helping with homework makes someone a great parent. “Being a great athlete didn’t automatically make me a great father, but the drive to improve as a player shaped me. It’s about daily effort and striving to be a role model,” he added.

Brady acknowledged imperfections, mentioning, “You’re not perfect. No one is.” He noted that commitment to goals over time can lead to a life of integrity, even as priorities shift.

Both Brady and Bündchen’s representatives have not commented on these statements.

Bündchen, 45, reportedly felt disappointed when Brady reversed his retirement plans in 2022. By September of that year, she expressed concerns about his choices, highlighting the sport’s violent nature and wishing he could be more present for their children.

She stated, “I definitely had conversations with him over and over again,” emphasizing the steps she took to support his career and create a nurturing environment for their kids.

The couple divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage, although Brady continued playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for another season. He announced his retirement “for good” in February 2023, stating in an Instagram video, “I’ll retire forever.”

Bündchen has since welcomed a child with her new partner, Joaquim Valente. Meanwhile, Brady has been linked romantically to several supermodels following his divorce.

Earlier this month, sources indicated that both retired athletes and a star from Modern Family were enjoying summer romances.
