Tom Brady might return from retirement, possibly due to Trump, according to a report.

Reports suggest that Tom Brady might be considering a return to the field, but he won’t be doing so until 2028, when he turns 50.

After retiring from the NFL in 2022, Brady transitioned to broadcasting, following a path similar to that of the Las Vegas Raiders’ minority owner. Yet, according to some sources, his playing days might not be entirely over. There may be a plan in place for him to re-enter the game, making his way back from the broadcast booth.

Brady is said to be aiming for an Olympic Gold in 2028 at the Summer Games in Los Angeles, intending to compete as quarterback for Team USA’s Flag Football team.

The NFL owners recently allowed players to participate in this flag football event, restricting each team to only one NFL player. It’s a possibility that Canadian or Samoan players could fill slots on other teams, but Team USA’s roster is anticipated to feature only NFL stars.

Notably, Brady is not considered an active player in the NFL at this point.

Sources indicate that “He wants a gold medal and a better way to solidify his legacy as the greatest of all time while helping his country succeed.” They mention that Brady’s well-structured life and strict regimen might make this a viable option for him.

It’s interesting to note that Brady might feel thankful toward President Trump for the Olympic Games being held so close to his home in Los Angeles. Trump had championed the bid during his presidency back in 2017, advocating for Los Angeles, which was initially not the front-runner.

Given that Brady hails from San Mateo, California, the proximity of the Olympic events could also be a significant factor in his choice to compete.

With the Olympics wrapping up just before his 51st birthday, and with a potential entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, 2028 could be a banner year for the seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Plymouth County Commissioner Jared L. Valanzola, a Massachusetts politician, shared, “Tom Brady is the greatest competitor in American sports history. His dedication and accomplishments are unmatched.” He expressed confidence that Brady could lead the flag team to gold.

However, some current players don’t share the same enthusiasm. Darrell Doucette, Team USA’s quarterback, has indicated that NFL players should actively compete for their spots on the flag team. Players like Patrick Mahomes from the Kansas City Chiefs and Joe Burrow from the Cincinnati Bengals have also shown interest in participating in the Olympics.
