Tom Brady ‘not opposed’ to Michael Jordan-style comeback

NFL legend Tom Brady said he’s not opposed to a return, giving fans hope for another shot at the league.

The soon-to-be 47-year-old was still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he retired in 2022, at age 45.

Brady, who still appears capable of performing at a high level, was rumored to be joining the Las Vegas Raiders to help promote his new team under the neon lights, but he has opted to retire to spend time with his family. After the 2021-2022 season, Brady divorced his model wife Gisele Bündchen, which naturally led to rumors that he might return.

Brady talked about a possible return to the NFL in a short segment on his podcast — all while getting a haircut.

” Unique interview format.Deep cut by VicBlends”, the quarterback spoke with the host about golf, fatherhood and retirement. Towards the end, the hairstylist brought up a what-if scenario, asking Brady if he would consider coming out of his retirement.

“Okay, you’re 100% retired,” the host prefaced.

“Yes,” Brady replied.

“Suppose a certain situation happens one day, right? [San Francisco] The 49ers will likely be heading to the playoffs. The offense is great…” the host explained.

“Maybe the Patriots, maybe the Raiders, maybe… you never know,” Brady interjected.

“God forbid someone should fall,” the host continued. “Would you please answer that phone call?”

“I’m not against it,” Brady responded shockingly. “If I owned an NFL team, I don’t know if they would let me. I don’t know, but I’m always going to be in good shape and ready to throw the ball.” Like MJ coming back, just participating a little bit? I don’t know if they’ll let me, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it,” Brady concluded.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, has been rumored to be looking to buy a stake in NFL teams, most recently the aforementioned Las Vegas Raiders.

according to sports newsBrady has agreed to terms with Raiders owner Mark Davis to buy a minority stake in the team in 2023, but becoming an owner in the NFL requires an approval process involving league officials and other owners.

“We’re going through a very thorough process. … We’re just going through the process. We’re in communication with their side,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said of Brady’s contract. I think we’re making progress.”

Brady would need 24 affirmative votes from NFL owners to gain ownership in the league.
