A new year, a new “challenge” for Tom Brady.
When discussing Fox's opportunities awaiting him in the fall, the retired NFL quarterback “Let's Go!,” he said on his SiriusXM podcast on Tuesday. He said he was “excited” to step out of his “comfort zone” after 23 seasons on the field.
“I have a big broadcast job starting in September. I've already been working hard to make sure I'm ready for the opportunity and am mentally and emotionally up to the challenge. I'm ready. Because it's a challenge. It's new and outside of my comfort zone,” Brady, 46, said.
“I'm excited to go out and try something and see how I do. But it's more about what my preparation is like and what my work ethic is. And hopefully a lot of the things I've done in my career have prepared me for that.”
Brady signed a monster 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox in May 2022, four months before the start of his final NFL season.
He will slide into Fox's top booth alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt, who has worked with former NFL tight end Greg Olsen.
The duo of Burkhardt, 49, and Olsen, 38, replaced former Fox first-teamers Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, who moved to ESPN's “Monday Night Football” in early 2022.
Buck, 54, spoke about helping Brady transition on this week's episode of the Post's “Marchand and Ourand” podcast.
“This is a new situation for him and I'm looking forward to seeing how he handles these situations,” Buck said.

“I know he's talked to Troy about this, and I know he's talked to an intermediary about maybe working with me and having me help. I'm fully committed to doing it. I’m open to it and would love to do that.”
Brady spent the first 20 seasons of his career with the Patriots, winning six Super Bowls with New England.
He transferred to Tampa Bay in 2020 and won the Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in February 2021.
